Combat Child Sexual Abuse — Awareness
Poster Series
Development of a three-poster awareness campaign for Elaan, a Kolkata-based non-governmental organisation dedicated to addressing child sexual abuse and child protection issues.
The campaign explored the widespread tendency to dismiss or question disclosures of abuse made by children. Rather than relying on explicit imagery, the posters were designed to create a moment of reflection, encouraging viewers to confront assumptions surrounding credibility, victim-blaming and societal silence. Use of bold colours that would attract attention in teh midst of vibrant posters and colours of India and Bengal, the visual concept employed subtle questioning and ambiguity as communication tools, inviting audiences to consider how easily a child’s account can be disregarded and the consequences of failing to listen.
